课程简介
A BA/LLB(Hons) conjoint allows you to complete a BA and the LLB(Hons) in less time, and with fewer points, than it would take to complete the two degrees separately. This degree develops essential skills that help students to adapt and thrive in a fast-changing, globalised society. By studying Law, you can arm yourself with a skill set that meets the high demands of many careers, inside and outside of the legal profession. You can complement your legal study with a wide range of subjects in the humanities, social sciences, cultures and languages. Your BA/LLB(Hons) study can help you to develop strong capabilities for many careers. You will develop knowledge of the law and its implications, and a sense of justice and public responsibility. Our graduates can be found practising law in New Zealand and worldwide. Theyre pursuing the new opportunities opened up by developments in society, technology and business.

The study of Sociology includes four broad themes. By taking a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Sociology, you can move between these groupings and take the courses that interest you. Cultural sociology It explores cultural phenomena and how they shape and are shaped by societies. You can study the world of image and representation in areas such as the media. Applied sociology and social policy Social policy is concerned with systems of government and community response to perceived social problems, such as health, illness and wellbeing. Power and resistance Society has established frameworks for regulating and influencing human behaviour, but these frameworks are always contested. Some of the most important examples are sexuality, procreation and intimate relationships. Comparative sociology and the global society This approach compares societies globally, regionally, nationally and over time. Topics range from the development of regional organisations in the Pacific to understanding of death in different cultures.
