For 2025 entry, full-time degree students must normally have reached 17 years of age by 15th January 2026. Where a candidate below that age seeks to enter UCC, a special application must be made to the President of the University. Applications will be considered from applicants whose qualifications are equivalent to the Irish Leaving Certificate. Applications will be considered on a case by case basis.

Our BA (Hons) in Digital Humanities and Information Technology is an innovative degree program where you will explore a wide range of topics in the arts and humanities while also learning the principles of information technology and digital media. We examine how digital technologies can drive innovation and explore how they are changing our understanding of what it means to be human in the age of machines. Our Department of Digital Arts & Humanities is part of the School of English & Digital Humanities at University College Cork. The program benefits from contributions across the College of Arts, Celtic Civilisation, and Social Sciences (CACSSS), as well as the School of Computer Science & Information Technology. If you are interested in applying digital technologies to research in the arts and humanities—whether in language, literature, philosophy, politics, geography, or related fields—our Digital Humanities team will guide you in exploring how technology can be utilized across various aspects of society. Ultimately, the study of digital humanities emphasises the creative collaboration between the arts and technology. We promise you an exciting journey through one of the most innovative courses available on campus today. Programme Outline Our BA in Digital Humanities and Information Technology is a three-year course. You can also take a four-year degree under the International or Work Experience pathways as detailed: 3 Years: BA (Hons) Digital Humanities and Information Technology 4 Years: BA (Hons) Digital Humanities and Information Technology - International Pathway: Year 3 is spent in an approved foreign university where students will study approved coursesmodules to the equivalent value of 60 credits. 4 Years: BA (Hons) Digital Humanities and Information Technology - Work Experience Pathway: Year 3 undertake a 5-credit Work Placement Plan module (DH3004) and a 55-credit Work Placement module (DH3005) (approved by the Board of Studies).
