To be eligible to enrol for the PhD, a candidate must have obtained a high honours standard at Master's degree level, normally at least Second Class Honours, Grade 1 or equivalent international qualification.
IELTS- 6.5 overall, no less than 5.5 in any one component.
TOEFL- 88 overall 7-11 Listening, 16-17 Speaking, 18-20 Writing, 8-12 Reading

The Irish Centre for Human Rights is at the forefront of doctoral research on international human rights law in Europe. The doctoral programme is unique not only because of the exceptional standard of research and level of publication but also because of the environment in which doctoral students work. A thriving research community exists at the Centre with in excess of 40 doctoral candidates enrolled on the programme each year. Students from a range of academic backgrounds are engaged in research on a broad spectrum of issues related to international human rights law, international criminal law, international humanitarian law and international relations.<br>The Irish Centre for Human Rights is one of the world's premier academic human rights institutions, dedicated to the study of human rights, peace and conflict, international criminal law and humanitarian law, international refugee and migration law, gender and human rights and climate justice. The Centre has developed a global reputation for excellence in the field of human rights teaching, research and advocacy. Each year we attract high quality students from across the globe, to our acclaimed Masters programs in International Human Rights Law, Peace Operations, Conflict and Humanitarian Law, International Migration and Refugee Law and Policy and International Criminal Law. Our academic programmes now include unique education opportunities through our undergraduate BCL Law and Human Rights and BA Connect with Human Rights. <br>The Centre also hosts a thriving international community of doctoral researchers.
