If you have a four-year Bachelor's degree graded in a four-point GPA system, you will need to have a GPA of at least 3.0 out of 4.0.
If you have a Bachelor's degree graded in the British system (including from India), you must have been awarded the degree with first or upper second-class Honours.
Either a Bachelor's degree with Honours or a Master's degree from a New Zealand university, with an overall GPA of no less than 6 (letter grade B+),
Or to be currently enrolled in a Master's thesis at the Victoria University of Wellington and meet the requirements for conversion to a PhD,
arrange references from two referees

Develop a deeper understanding of the classical cultures that underpin the modern worldour political and legal systems, our philosophical and social thought, and the myths and stories you see on the page, stage and screen. Use the past to shed light on the present day. Take advantage of research strengths in areas such as the classical influences on modern film, the history of sexuality, and ancient and modern democracy. Compare Graeco-Roman mythologies with those of Mori or Pasifika peoples. Choose your approach from an array of disciplines including philology, literary criticism, art history, archaeology, political theory, source criticism, sexuality and gender studies, reception theory, anthropology, epigraphy and film theory. Classical Studies allows you to study the ancient world without an in-depth knowledge of the Latin or Greek languages. Enhance your toolkit of analytical and communication skills through the rigorous thinking, analysis and understanding of complex issues that comes with advanced study in classics.
