The Graduate Diploma in Heritage Studies provides an overview of professional heritage practice and focuses on the classroom-based coursework section of the Master of Heritage Studies. This course aims to meet your training needs, in working with, caring for and sharing heritage. Heritage Studies is a cross-disciplinary strategic research area at UWA, providing increased research opportunities and capabilities for students. You will study both tangible and intangible heritage including natural, cultural and Indigenous heritage. You'll learn to understand heritage issues and to work with industries and governments to record, manage, protect and present heritage objects, places and traditions in partnership with communities. Western Australia is heritage-rich, with 50,000 years of tangible Indigenous heritage and vibrant intangible heritage traditions. This course is taught jointly through the Faculty of Arts, Business, Law and Education, and the School of Indigenous Studies.
