Access to HE Diploma - The University will not necessarily make conditional offers to all Access candidates but will continue to assess them on an individual basis. BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma (formerly BTEC National Diploma) - The University will consider applicants holding BTEC National Diploma and Extended National Diploma Qualifications (QCF, NQF, OCR) on a case-by-case basis. Please contact us for further advice on your individual circumstances. A typical offer would be to achieve DMM plus A-level History, or Classics-Ancient History, or Classics - Classical Civilisation at B. International Baccalaureate - 34 points overall or 14 points at HL including History 5 at HL or 6 at SL. IELTS - 6.5 overall (with a minimum of 6.0 in R&W, 5.5 in S&L). TOEFL iBT - 90 overall (with a minimum of 22 in R, 21 in W, 17 in L, 20 in S. CAE/CPE - 176 overall (with a minimum of 169 in R&W, 162 in S&L).

Our joint honours programme Art History and History offers a critically engaging and expansive approach to the discipline of art history combined with the study of world history from the medieval times to the present.Kent's School of Arts is well-known for its innovative programmes in the visual arts. Our Art History and History programme combines a comprehensive review of art movements, artists and artistic media as well as historical scholarship with opportunities to put your knowledge into practice.The course provides you with the key visual, critical and professional skills necessary for a career in the art world and for a range of other employment opportunities.Our History programme allows you to tailor your degree to your own interests. These may be incredibly broad, or more focused within specific themes or historical periods.In your first year, you are given a firm foundation in some of the aesthetic, interpretative and methodological approaches to art history and the study of world history. Our programme also offers an introduction to work-related skills directly relevant to employment in the visual arts sector, such as visual arts writing and exhibition curation.Throughout your second and third years, there are opportunities for you to develop and expand your engagement with art history through a range of specialist modules. These may include Renaissance and Baroque art, modernism, contemporary art, French painting, surrealism, photography and aesthetics.You can also choose from a wide-ranging selection of history modules that allow you to focus on specific themes or historical periods including the British Empire, the history of the United States, or the Second World War.
