Study Ancient and Medieval History with us and youll act as a witness to some of the world's most fascinating and turbulent times. Youll explore the history of Greece and Rome in Classical Antiquity, from around 600 BCE to 700 CE and see how it developed into the Medieval period, from around 700 CE onto 1500 CE. Your study of Ancient History will be vital, as the era's politics, events and development shape the way we think about many aspects of historical societies and even our own culture. In your study of the Medieval period, youll discover a world transformed from its archaic predecessor with huge technological innovation and social change. Along the way, youll learn about war and empire, society and religion analysing events, interpreting sources and developing an understanding of the transitions and trends that have shaped our world. Graduates may be employed in a wide range of industries including: museums, galleries, heritage sites/historic houses, heritage organisations and charities, record offices, archives, building conservation, horticulture and nature conservation, national and local government, libraries and universities.
