To be eligible for admission to your chosen honours course at UWA you must successfully - complete a bachelors degree or equivalent from a recognised university.
Applicants wishing to commence an undergraduate degree at UWA must satisfy the Universitys academic and English language competence ELC requirements to be eligible for a place within the course.
Overseas secondary studies taught and examined in English Secondary teaching and examination in English is acceptable if deemed equivalent to Australian matriculation Year 12 with a pass in the final year English paper completed within two years of application.
IELTS Academic - Minimum overall score of 6.5 with no band less than 6.0 must include Academic Reading and Writing modules for all courses.
TOEFL - Internet-based Test iBT An overall score of 82 with a minimum score of 22 in the Writing section 18 in the Reading section 20 in the Speaking section and 20 in the Listening section for all courses.
TOEFL - Essay Rating Test of Written English TWE of 45 and either 230 Computer-based or 570 Paper-based score.

Honours in Psychology has been awarded Accreditation without conditions by the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC) as a fourth year of psychology. This Honours specialisation includes a substantial research component which continues the research preparation from the earlier undergraduate years and prepares students for entry into the PhD and accredited master's degrees with a research component.<br><br>Outcomes: Students are able to (1) demonstrate critical evaluation of current psychological research; (2) formulate a testable hypothesis in an area of psychology; (3) design an experimental evaluation of that hypothesis using appropriate psychological methods; (4) collect original research data; (5) analyse complex data sets by using a variety of advanced statistical techniques; (6) communicate research findings orally and in writing; (7) write and compile a scientific dissertation in a format appropriate for the discipline; (8) demonstrate evaluation of a variety of theoretical and empirical approaches to some of the major issues relating to modern psychology and apply these approaches within the broad context of modern psychology; (9) present their research in an informative and interesting way to a range of audiences; and (10) demonstrate an understanding of some basic skills in applying a science-informed approach to integrating assessment and intervention information.
