This course focuses on developing your academic and practical understanding of sport through a bilingual medium. Although part of the course will be delivered through the medium of English, the majority of the course will be available through the medium of Welsh and has been designed to meet the growing demand for graduates with bilingual competencies and qualifications.<br><br>In terms of content, the course gives you the opportunity to understand and explore sport from a variety of disciplinary perspectives. For example, you will learn about:<br><br>1. The training process (practical and theoretical)<br><br>2. The socio-cultural and ethical significance of sport and physical activity<br><br>3. The issues related to the provision of physical education and youth sports from an educational perspective<br><br>4. Population nutrition and sports<br><br>Although the course offers a wide range of subjects and disciplinary aspects, the curriculum will still enable you to focus and specialize as you move through the three years of academic study. In addition to the comprehensive theoretical and practical academic framework, you will be encouraged to build a portfolio of UKCC training qualifications, work-based learning and experiences during your time at University. Cardiff Met offers on-campus opportunities that you can take part in and the Met has excellent links with Cardiff Sport and the surrounding schools and local authorities.
