This course is run in partnership with the School of Continuing and Professional Education (SCOPE) at City University in Hong Kong. At our Preston campus in the UK, we only offer this course as a top up/direct entry, allowing students to study Year 3 only.Get ready for an international future, with communication skills, business knowledge and practical experience – all spanning English and a language of your choice.In today's global economy, businesses engage consumers, clients and suppliers across continents and beyond borders. This course is designed to give you the ability to play a vital role in that process, with professional communication skills in two languages. It's a degree that goes beyond the mechanics of language, looking at the intercultural context of corporate communications – offering a competitive edge for a wide range of communication-oriented careers.While the course is built around a strong core of corporate communication and language skills, you'll also have the flexibility to set your own direction in a range of business areas. With the variety of option units on offer, you could set your sights on disciplines like Human Resources, Marketing or Public Relations, or gain an in-depth knowledge of the region in which your chose language is spoken – from Latin America to Asia Pacific.Above all, this is a practical course, offering valuable skills and real experience. Placements offer the chance to develop vital project management and research skills, while you'll also have the chance to go on to subsidised field trips to destinations like Shanghai, Guangzhou, Hong Kong, Spain, Germany and Cyprus.<br>The Korean subject offers you a variety of modules including not only language learning, but also Korean history, culture, linguistics and politics.<br><br>Language learning starts from the absolute beginner level and conveys all four skills of speaking, reading, listening and writing. The classes are featured with interactive activities, together with conversation classes run by Korean native students, giving our students sufficient opportunities to practice and communicate using the language.<br><br>Besides the module setting, we provide many different experiences in the area of Korean studies. Korean speaking/poetry-making contests are held regularly every year, allowing you to explore more possibilities with your language.<br><br>Conferences and seminars invite scholars to bring in new frontier knowledge to share with you. We also organise the Korean Festival which students take a great part in making Korean food, trying traditional Korean dresses and K-pop.<br>Our sandwich degrees offer the perfect blend of academic study and practical work experience, allowing you to build confidence in the workplace and graduate work-ready from your degree programme.<br><br>Our previous graduates have found their sandwich year particularly beneficial as it has allowed them to gain practical, hands-on experience within their chosen career and the opportunity to learn directly from professionals based out in industry. It is not uncommon for sandwich year programmes to also open up future work opportunities in similar fields or professions for our graduates.
