You will look at the way English has changed over the centuries, considering what will become of it in the future, comparing English use in different parts of the globe, and considering important practical aspects of English such as the hundreds of millions of people worldwide learning English as an additional or foreign language.<br><br>A graduate of this English Language for Speech and Language Therapy degree is likely to want to pursue a career as a speech and language therapist, and this course provides an excellent foundation for that path. However, most walks of life benefit from having language and/or literature experts on their team, and if you graduate from this course you will have the knowledge and skills needed to go into fields like the media, translation, interpreting, publishing, teaching, civil service, community work (e.g. related to language policy and engagement), librarianship, etc. In some cases you will need further training and qualifications beyond what this course provides, and if you wish to pursue a career in speech and language therapy (SLT) then a Masters qualification in SLT is a logical next step.
