Learn a rich array of language, literary and cultural knowledge in this French and Spanish degree, taught in the heart of London. You can continue where you left off at school or join us as a complete beginner in the Spanish language, whilst improving upon your knowledge of French. The Departments of French, and Spanish, Portuguese & Latin American Studies are active researchers in all fields: including language, literature and cultural history through to the present day. The year abroad is usually split between French and Spanish-speaking countries. The year abroad offers students the unique opportunity for immersion in French culture. We have exchanges with a number of partner universities in France and French speaking countries, and the opportunity to undertake an internship/work placement in a French- speaking environment (typically sourced by students themselves).<br><br>Our Contemporary Literature, Culture & Theory French with Spanish BA course involves following a series of required language modules throughout the course, and also choosing from a diverse range of optional modules covering both languages. French modules will include French and Francophone literature, as well as further modules in French history, contemporary French institutions, film, politics and philosophy. The Spanish pathway will include the study of Peninsular and Latin American literature and cultural histories.
