A level - BBB including grade B in at least one of your chosen languages.
International Baccalaureate - 34 points overall or 15 points at HL including one of your chosen languages HL A1/A2/B at 4/5/5 or SL 5/6/6.
Access to HE Diploma - The University will not necessarily make conditional offers to all Access candidates but will continue to assess them on an individual basis.
BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma (formerly BTEC National Diploma) - The University will consider applicants holding BTEC National Diploma and Extended National Diploma Qualifications (QCF, NQF, OCR) on a case-by-case basis.
IELTS - 6.5 overall (with a minimum of 6.0 in reading&writing, 5.5 in speaking&listening). TOEFL iBT - 90 overall (with a minimum of 22 in reading, 21 in writing, 17 in listening, 20 in speaking. CAE/CPE - 176 overall (with a minimum of 169 in reading&writing, 162 in speaking&listening).

European Studies combines the study of language with politics, culture and literature to give you the skills to understand and participate in key issues across the continent. On our European Studies (Combined Languages) programme, you learn two European languages, and spend a year studying or working in mainland Europe.European Studies at Kent is based in the School of European Culture and Languages (SECL) and benefits from the interdisciplinary culture within the School. We combine linguistic and cultural expertise in a wide range of subject areas like philosophy and comparative literature. This creates an environment that fosters the exchange of ideas and the appreciation of cultural difference.<br><br>In your first year of study, you attend beginners or intermediate language courses for the two languages of your choice. You study Europe as a cultural concept beyond the context of everyday political analysis. In addition, you can choose from a variety of modules that explore the different political and cultural aspects of a range of European countries.You further improve your written and spoken language skills in the second year of your studies. In addition, you can choose from a variety of specialist cultural modules covering themes such as visual culture, gender, immigration and music.<br><br>As a European Studies (Combined Languages) student you are required to spend a year abroad between Stages 2 and 3. You may split this between two countries in which the languages you study are spoken.
