In French and Spanish, emphasis is placed on communicating effectively and developing transferable skills such as translating, interpreting, and interview techniques. Practical language classes embrace speaking, listening, reading and writing. We offer a wide choice of subjects, which may include society, cinema, culture and linguistics. You can study either French or Spanish from beginners level in the first year by taking a Fast Track option (please note, you cannot do beginners level for both languages). The course is taken as an equal honours route. You will be required to spend your third year abroad in France and Spain. The experience of being immersed in another culture for several months is one our students find both beneficial and rewarding. They return having made new friends, experienced new places and have grown in confidence. After this year, you return to the University to study for your final year. This course has a Foundation Year available.<br>LENGTH<br>4 years full-time with a study abroad year.<br><br>###COVID Alert Message from University – 9th November 2020 is the latest possible arrival date. Deadline for attending sessions on campus if required to quarantine is 23rd November 2020 for 14 day quarantine and 16th October for 7 day quarantine. A Student staying in University accommodation will only be charged from arrival date and will not be charged for the quarantine period if required to quarantine on arrival. All late arriving students required to start online from 14th September.
