TOEFL IBT - Overall score: 79 With no individual test score below: Listening: 17, Reading: 18, Speaking: 20, Writing : 17.
UCAS tariff points/grades required- 104-112, 104-112 UCAS Tariff points from three A2s or acceptable alternatives. A Level French at Grade B or above. Applicants without an A Level in French should contact the University directly to discuss options, An English subject at GCE A Level is preferred, e.g. English Language, English Literature, English Language/Literature. Subjects such as Religious Education, History, Media Studies and General Studies will also be considered. Performing Arts, Production Arts or Creative Media Production are preferred from applicants studying BTEC qualifications. Specific GCSE requirements- GCSE English Language at grade C or grade 4. Equivalent qualifications (eg. Functional Skills) may be considered. Non Tariffed Qualifications- Pass Access to HE Diploma in a relevant subject with a minimum 106 UCAS Tariff Points - units taken must include some element of literary or cultural study. International Baccalaureate points- 26 with a minimum of 6 in French at Higher level, IELTS- 6.0 with a minimum of at least 5.5 in all units.

The Combined Honours programme offers you an opportunity to study two subjects at degree level.<br>English:<br>English explores the role of writing in defining and transforming human experience. Creative writing is a contemporary art practice that expresses that experience.<br>At the Manchester campus, the English department has access to a community of internationally renowned writers and critics through the Manchester Writing School, one of the most successful of its kind in the UK. It boasts over 85 published graduates and its Creative Director is the Poet Laureate, Professor Carol Ann Duffy DBE.Against this backdrop you will examine major periods and forms of literature, learning to analyse literary and media texts by drawing on wider humanities disciplines. Creative writing students will develop the craft of writing, learning to read as a writer and collaborating with artists across the creative spectrum. Both approaches develop the necessary skills in critical thinking and communication that are of value to graduates entering a wide array of career paths or establishing practice.<br> <br>French:<br>Proficiency in modern languages can give you the competitive edge in the global jobs market.
