Have been out of formal fulltime Level 3 education usually ALevels or Access courses for 2 years Have potential to succeed on your chosen course evidenced by a combination of work life and prior educational experience Have an understanding and commitment to the subjectarea of your chosen course Be prepared for the demands that undergraduate degree level study will place upon you Be 21 or over A minimum GCSE grade D3 in Mathematics or equivalent may also be required A GCSE grade C4 may be required for some science programmes IELTS - Overall score of 6.0 with a minimum of 5.5 in each component, TOEFL - Overall score of 80 with a minimum of 17 in Listening, 18 in Reading, 20 in Speaking and 17 in Writing, Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic, PTE Academic UKVI - Overall score of 56 with a minimum of 51 in each component.

The foundation year of this programme provides students with non-standard entry qualifications a thorough and supportive academic preparation for successful degree level study in the School of Languages and Cultures. On successful completion of the foundation year, students will progress to BA Modern Language and Culture.<br><br>The foundation year to this degree is carefully designed to build your confidence in your abilities, develop essential academic and study skills, and provide the subject specific knowledge essential for success. You will study within the Department for Lifelong Learning, where we have nearly forty years experience working with adult learners, helping them to unlock their potential to succeed at degree-level study.
