Religion can create communities and motivate people's actions. It drives people to go to war, strive for peace, kill and heal, hate and love and produce sublime literary, artistic and musical works. An understanding of faith and religion is fundamental to understanding our world. And as the world becomes more connected and countries become more culturally diverse, the ability to analyse the complex world of faith and religion is a highly sought-after skill. Religious Studies is part of the School of Social and Cultural Studies and boasts a dynamic, supportive postgraduate environment with attentive and skilful supervision. You'll find it a nurturing, stimulating place to study. You'll need to complete 120 points over one year, or if studying part time, over a maximum of four years. At Honours level your learning will be more self-directed. You'll have the opportunity to do a 30-point research project and this will include designing, undertaking and reporting on a research project under supervision. As an Honours student you'll be in smaller classes and will be able to build closer relationships with academic staff.
