Study a degree in philosophy and Spanish in the heart of London. This course is open to beginners of the Spanish language, or those with previous knowledge. Particular teaching strengths are in philosophy of mind, philosophy of science and ancient philosophy, taught within one of the most distinguished philosophy departments in the UK. The Department of Spanish, Portuguese & Latin American Studies is active in all fields of Hispanic language, literature and cultural history. The opportunity to study abroad for a year offers students the chance to immerse themselves in culture and society and achieve language fluency. We have exchanges with a number of global partner universities , and the opportunity to apply for the English Language Assistantship Programme or to undertake an internship/work placement in a Spanish-speaking environment (typically sourced by students themselves).<br><br>Our Department of Philosophy has particular strengths in philosophy of mind, philosophy of science and ancient philosophy. We are also able to offer an extremely wide range of modules, including subjects like Indian philosophy and medieval philosophy, which are offered by very few other universities in the UK. The Department of Spanish, Portuguese & Latin American Studies is active in all fields of Spanish language as well as Peninsular and Latin American literatures and cultural histories from the earliest times to the present day. Our modules will allow you to develop a broad understanding of the Hispanic and Lusophone world and to pursue your interests in more detail. Our language modules will help you refine and deepen your linguistic knowledge, enabling you to graduate with near-native fluency.
