Studying our Geography and Politics BA you will tackle contemporary global challenges and explore the spatial dynamics of human behaviours whilst exploring the fundamental choices about power and how we are governed. You'll be taught by expert academics and develop the skills to enter a wide variety of careers. <br>Studying a combined honours in Geography and Politics enables you to consider some of today's global challenges such as climate change whilst engaging in conversations around power, leadership and policy.<br>Geography is uniquely positioned between the physical and social sciences enabling geographers to provide broad-ranging perspectives on a range of key societal challenges. The flexibility of our programme enables you to explore the full breadth and depth of this dynamic discipline.<br><br>The Geography component of this programme enables you to explore the spatial interactions between human behaviours and society and the inter-relationships between the environment and political, economic and social forces. Our focus on climate change, global responsibility, sustainability, and the application of professional geographical skills to real-world situations will prepare you for a wide range of careers and for life as a responsible global citizen. You'll undertake a range of Geography modules which encourage you to consider themes such as space and society and practical human geography whilst having the flexibility to tailor your studies through our optional modules.<br><br>Politics at Keele seeks to understand society and the events and forces which shape it, engaging with questions of power, justice, conflict, legitimacy, accountability, and governance. You will explore why citizens are increasingly disillusioned with politics, what a democracy is, when and how it's legitimate to protest, and the effects of different models of government. You can tailor your studies to your interests, whether theoretical, historical or oriented to specific issues.<br><br>Our academics are active researchers, with expertise in environmental politics, European and American politics and international relations.
