BTEC National Diploma / Diploma: Distinction and Merit in any BTEC National Diploma / Diploma and C in one A Level, or Merit and Merit in BTEC Diploma and A in one A Level.
BTEC National Extended Certificate / Subsidiary Diploma: Distinction in any BTEC National Extended Certificate / Subsidiary Diploma and CC in two A Levels, or Merit in any BTEC National Extended Certificate / Subsidiary Diploma and BB in two A Levels.
International Baccalaureate Diploma: 554 in three Higher Levels or 29 points.

Are you intrigued by how power has shaped the world we live in, and by the impact of global events on our everyday lives History and Politics at Keele explores big issues such as conflict, the environment, and human rights, providing a foundational knowledge of both subjects. Develop an understanding of the impact of governmental decisions within society by engaging with conversations around power, leadership, policies and political action, and explore how these have changed over time, and how they inform the contemporary world. You will become a confident professional, with key skills in analysis and communication, preparing you for an advanced career and employment.Course overviewOur combined honours History and Politics course at Keele investigates how the past has shaped the world and the societies that we live in today, with consideration of power, governance, and conflict.History at Keele is taught by academics who are active researchers and experts across a diverse range of fields (from political, social, economic and cultural history to the history of gender, health, sexuality and religion) and periods (from late antiquity to the present day). You will develop your knowledge, critical thinking, and analytical skills by studying a range of topics but will also benefit from the opportunity to specialise in areas that align to your personal interests and career aspirations. You will be able to trace the course of change in key areas of human history and appreciate the impact of events, forces, and processes on individual societies and the world as a whole.You will learn how to research diverse topics effectively, how to critically interrogate evidence and reflect on pivotal moments in history. This will involve working both independently and as part of a team in order to broaden your knowledge and develop transferable skills that will allow you to interpret information from various sources critically and effectively.Politics at Keele helps you to understand society and the events and forces which shape it, engaging with questions around justice, legitimacy and accountability.
