Prior to applying to our MA program, you should have a significant academic background: either a major or honours degree in art history, or a closely related field.
Unofficial copies of transcripts from all post-secondary institutes you have attended (you may be required to provide original transcripts in a sealed envelope from the institution at a later date should you be offered admission)
2 academic references: please provide names and email addresses. They will then be sent an email with a link to an online form they can either complete, or upload a letter of reference
*Proof of English language proficiency

In this research-focused program, you will study art and the visual world with experts. Join our vibrant community of students, faculty and arts professionals to undertake innovative studies of art, imagery and architecture, from ancient archeological sites to contemporary video games.<br>This program has active, in-class learning through seminars, workshops and public presentations. You will develop a research project on a topic of your choice.<br><br>Students in this program will:<br>refine and expand upon existing competencies in the tools of art history: visual/formal analysis<br>write and speak clearly, effectively, and critically using terminology and a range of theoretical frameworks appropriate to the fields of art history and visual studies<br>conduct independent research on a chosen topic, involving the collection and analysis of visual and/or material culture<br>revise and improve writing and spoken presentations on the basis of questions and critiques received from members of the supervisory committee, as well as in seminars and conferences<br>investigate and provide explanations for specific interrelations between cultural/historical contexts, art and visual culture
