Have an Honours B.A. with a major in Visual Arts or Media Arts (or from equivalent undergraduate programs in cognate disciplines who are engaged in the study of art and/or, culture).
Have attained at least a 73% average in undergraduate courses.
Have successfully completed course work in art history, visual culture or related cultural theory (applicants may be considered for the program with the stipulation that deficiences be made up).
Present transcripts of all university and/or college-level work.
Present three letters of recommendation.
A 500-word letter of intent outlining your studio interests, why you are interested in pursuing an MFA at the University of Windsor, and what kind of work you plan to produce in the program.
A current Curriculum Vitae (C.V.).
English Proficiency Tests: For applicants whose native language is not English, a minimum score of 220 on the TOEFL English proficiency test or 6.5 on the IELTS is required.
A portfolio of recent work must be included with your Master of Fine Arts application. [see portfolio specifications below].

The Master of Fine Arts Program in Visual Arts at the University of Windsor is a two-year, studio-centered program geared towards creative exploration, innovative experimentation and the development of a sustainable artistic practice.<br>The program provides graduate students with a critical and theoretical framework that enables the independent development of artistic research and studio production that is supported by a range of dynamic faculty, visiting artists, curators and critics.<br>Windsor’s School of Creative Arts has one of the longest running MFA programs in Canada, founded in 1979.<br>University of Windsor MFA graduates have gone on to establish significant careers as visual artists, educators, curators and arts professionals.<br>Our program is distinguished for its focus on intensive graduate supervision, spacious facilities and openness to unconventional practices. <br>We encourage a multi-disciplinary approach to art that enables students to experiment with a variety of media and methods to discover those best suited to realizing their creative projects<br> The MFA in Film and Media Arts is a two-year course thesis-based program. The curriculum balances a theoretical framework with practice-based courses that enable the independent production of a short film project with the support of an academic advisor. Graduate students create films andor multimedia works over the course of their studies, culminating in a thesis film and written support document. <br><br> Our award-winning School of Creative Arts film production faculty screen films regularly at Academy award-qualifying festivals across the globe. University of Windsor Film MFA graduates have gone on to rewarding careers in film production and post-production and have accepted positions as full members of IATSE and the Directors Guild of Canada.
