The Bachelor of Fine Arts program in dance is for students pursuing a professional dance career who wish to pursue their goals within the artistic and intellectual climate of a major research university. BFA students have ample opportunity to perform and choreograph new works. BFA students complete 92 credits in dance with courses in three areas: technique and performance, choreography, and theoretical studies. BFA students work along side guest artists who have recently included Bill T. Jones, Mark Morris Dance Group, Camille A. Brown, Maxine Doyle, and Merce Cunningham Dance Company. The BFA dance program has many distinct features including opportunities for yoga and/or Pilates certification, over 100 available minors, study abroad programs in London and Jerusalem, and a five-year joint BFA and Master of Dance Education program.
