All of your classroom work, whether academic or studio, is complemented by work in the production season. Each year a series of major theatrical projects provide you with opportunities to explore, apply, and test the theory and skills that you acquire in the classroom.<br><br>The majority of the program consists of practical studio work, whereas the B.A. degree features more lectures and discussion classes. A typical B.F.A. program focuses two-thirds in the arts, and one-third in more general liberal arts studies, for a B.A. in Theatre, the ratio might be reversed. This high concentration of hands-on studio coursework gives you a competitive edge over other students upon graduation. This distinction not only defines us, but it separates us from other colleges and universities.<br><br>Students selecting acting must complete an additional 40 credits distributed as follows: Introduction to Voice and Movement, Basic Acting I and II, Intermediate Acting I and II, and Scene Study, Makeup, Dance for the Musical Theatre, Stage Combat or Singing for the Musical Theatre. Additional credits in special workshop classes are completed as students play roles in major productions or student-directed workshops.
