戏剧系致力于戏剧的各个阶段的学习和实践，提供了广泛的课程，适合非文科专业的非专业学生和为职业或教育职业做准备的专业。该系目前授予本科级别的美术学士（BFA）和文学学士（BA）学位，以及研究生学位的文学硕士和哲学博士学位。BFA和BA学位课程均以工作室为中心。培训的主要目标是培养技术精湛，审美精湛且具有历史渊源的表演者和创意艺术家。这两个程序的核心都是现代舞蹈和芭蕾舞的日常技巧课。它提供了编舞的良好基础，以及舞蹈史，舞蹈写作，设计，音乐，舞台制作和剧院技术方面的各种课程。
As a student in the Bachelor of Arts program in Theater, you'll choose a concentration in one of the following areas: design, directing, playwriting, theater and performance studies, or theater and community. An undergraduate major in theater may lead to specialized creative work in the profession, to graduate work in preparation for teaching and research, or to other careers within or beyond the arts and entertainment industry. The Department of Theater and Dance provides a dynamic environment for the study of theater and dance. The mission of the department is to develop and nurture students' capacity for self-expression and critical thinking, to train actors, dancers, designers, directors, and playwrights for professional work, to provide students with a general education through the media of dance, performance, and theater, and to train graduate students as scholars and teachers.
