The program develops skilled and creative artists for vocational and professional careers and/or future study in Theatre and related arts and aims: (1) to develop creativity, artistic skills, and professionalism in students through an active production program that melds scholarship and practice, (2) to encourage and develop skills in communication, problem solving, research, and effective writing, (3) to enable majors and non-majors to expand and perfect their knowledge of the literary, historical, and philosophical aspects of Theatre through a rich curriculum that has both depth and breadth, (4) to foster students understanding and appreciation of the arts, and (5) to enhance the cultural life of the campus and the region.
