You must submit official school transcripts as part of the application file. We'll accept official transcripts coming directly from the high school: uploaded through Naviance, emailed, or mailed via post.
Applicants that fulfill one or more of the following conditions will be considered to be a first-year:
An applicant that, at the time of application, is enrolled in an accredited secondary school (a domestic high school or the international equivalent) or homeschool program.
An applicant that has earned a high school diploma, GED or equivalent certificate of completion but that has not enrolled in any other accredited post-secondary institution.
An applicant that enrolled in a post-secondary institution but did not earn credit and/or that has completely withdrawn from that institution before credit was earned. Note: complete withdrawal must be verified by receipt of a transcript reflecting the withdrawal and/or a letter from the institution verifying that no credit was earned. TOEFL: Internet based, minimum score 79, IELTS: - Minimum score 6.5
Headshot + Resume
You will upload your headshot and resume to your College of Music and Fine Arts supplemental application
The resume should highlight different roles or capacities you have fulfilled in theatre productions
Monologue
You will perform one age-appropriate 60-120 second monologue from the work of an established playwright- memorized
The monologue you select should be from a stage play
Before performing your monologue, be prepared to state your name, the title of the play, the name of the playwright, and the character you are performing as
Theatre Songs
You will perform two contrasting (ballad/up tempo) musical theatre songs one (1) minute each - memorized. One selection should be a classic Broadway piece pre-1970s and the second selection a contemporary piece 1970-present.
There will be an accompanist provided for on-campus auditions. You must bring sheet music for our accompanist in a 3-ring binder

Loyola New Orleans has the added benefit of being in a highly creative, arts-focused community with a wide range of performing opportunities. Sure, you'll take a comprehensive theatre curriculum including performance skills, dramatic literature, history and theory, theatre management, theatrical technology, and design. But you'll also get to step into the spotlight or behind the stage. Once you've auditioned and been accepted, you may find yourself honing your craft at a local theatre through an internship or studying abroad. You'll have exposure to casting directors, production managers and other theatre professionals through student forums.
