Academic Preparation. Successful students are prepared students and we want to make sure youre ready for the rigors of college-level work. We recommend:
4 years of English
3-4 years of math (through second year algebra or pre-calculus)
3 years of natural sciences (two or more with a lab component)
2 years of the same foreign language
Transcripts from all secondary and postsecondary schools attended or are attending including diplomas examination results mark sheets and certificates Unofficial transcripts and other academic documents are acceptable for admission decision making Uploaded documents will show as received only AFTER an admissions counselor has completed the evaluation.

Minimum English proficiency test scores for most programs.
Test of English as a Foreign Language TOEFL 71 iBT undergraduate.
TOEFL Essential 7 Undergraduate.
International English Language Testing System IELTS Academic 6.0 undergraduate.
Pearson Test of English Academic Module PTE 48 undergraduate.
International Baccalaureate, grade of 5 in English at the Higher Level.
General Certificate of Education - A grade of A B or C in English from one of the five British-based examining boards undergraduate.
Successful completion of ESL level 112.

If you decide to major in art at Western Michigan University, you will have a broad array of opportunities available to you. Specialties that you can explore during your education include - Art Education, Art History, Ceramics, Foundation Art, Graphic Design, Metals, Jewelry, Painting, Photography and Intermedia, Printmedia, Pre Art Therapy, Product Design and Sculpture. As an art student at WMU, you will benefit from the free exhibitions, special events and visiting artists programs sponsored by the Frostic School of Art.<br><br>You will also become familiar with the three large gallery spaces that make up the Richmond Center for Visual Arts. The Monroe-Brown Gallery is used for temporary exhibitions, the Netzorg-Kerr Permanent Collection Gallery houses special exhibits from the school's permanent collection, the Atrium Gallery is dedicated to sound and video art, and the DeVries Student Art Gallery is reserved for student and alumni exhibitions. A calendar of year-round public events allows thousands to learn about and enjoy regional and national modern and contemporary art.
