Official transcripts from a high school or other secondary school in English are required for all students.
If you wish to transfer credits from another college or university, make sure to indicate that you are a transfer student on the application and forward your college transcripts, also. You will receive an evaluation of your credits during Orientation.

Art educators are responsible for helping young artists to find forms of expression. As an art education major, you will gain the skills and experiences necessary for a career as an art educator. You will understand the requirements for teaching art in public schools, become involved in art education at the community level, and explore avenues for your own personal artistic growth.<br><br>As an art education major, you will learn practical skills and concepts that will prepare you for a career as an art educator. You will graduate with Pennsylvania Level 1 Certification, which allows you to teach in any Pennsylvania K-12 Public School. In addition, you will have the experience and training that will allow you to teach in museum education programs, as well as community-based art settings.<br><br>You will study with world-renowned art educators, and will take courses that introduce you to historical roots as well as contemporary topics including curriculum design, pedagogical theories, use of digital technologies, and strategies for working with special populations. Courses in studio art will allow you to explore a variety of areas of study, including ceramics, drawing, graphic design, metals, painting, print media, sculpture, and woodworking. You may choose to add a minor in studio art or art history to your degree. This option provides further exploration in the various studio disciplines.
