If you are graduating from a high school outside of the United States, your application will be reviewed on the following admission criteria Completion of high school/secondary level. A certified copy of graduation certificate or diploma will be required prior to enrollment at SDSU. Review the Requirements by Country for country specific information. A minimum U.S. equivalent GPA (grade point average) of 3.0 (B grade or 80 percent) or higher. English Proficiency: If you are attending or have attended a high school where English was not the primary language of instruction, you must meet university-level competence in English through one of the following: TOEFL – Passing score is 80 iBT/550 paper or higher. IELTS – Passing overall score is 6.5 or higher.

By majoring in art at SDSU, you'll have access to tremendous resources, such as our diverse and award-winning faculty, comprehensive facilities and equipment, exhibition opportunities on and off campus, and the chance to meet cutting-edge artists in the Visiting Artist Lecture Series and Artists-in-Residence Program. A major in art may be planned with an emphasis in applied design, with specialties in ceramics, furniture/woodworking, and jewelry/metalwork, art history, studio arts, graphic design, interior architecture, multimedia, painting and printmaking, or sculpture.
