A Bachelor's degree from SFU or its equivalent from a recognized institution.
A Cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0/4.33 (B), or a grade point average of at least 3.33/4.33 (B plus) based on the last 60 units of undergraduate courses. Any graduate work is also considered. Individual graduate programs may set a higher admission grade point average.

IELTS - Overall band score of 7.0 of the academic (NOT general) test with a minimum of 6.5 in each section. TOEFL IBT - 93, with a minimum score of 20 in each category. For the paper-based TOEFL test, the University normally requires a score of 580, with TWE 5. Pearson Academic (PTE) - Overall 65 minimum 60 in all of their sections.

SIAT offers Master of Arts, Master of Science, and Doctor of Philosophy degrees. We also offer a Graduate Certificate Program in Visual Analytics as an additional credential for registered SFU graduate level students.<br><br>Our Master of Arts (MA) and Master of Science (MSc) students have two completion options to choose from: the traditional thesis-based option consisting of 15 credits of coursework and a research thesis, or the project-based option consisting of 24 credits of coursework and a project. Students are required to choose their completion option at the time of application.<br>The master of arts (MA) is one of three degrees offered in SIAT in art, design, media and information technology with particular expertise in the interactive aspects of digital technology and media related to topics including art, design, learning, business, cognition, performing arts, social science and cultural studies. The program is geared toward students who wish to learn about interactive technologies and the implications of their design and use in a human-centred context. Methodological approaches in this degree are primarily drawn from traditions of inquiry in the social sciences, humanities and artistic disciplines. <br><br>The program has the following objectives: research into the acts of designing, making, and managing technology; inquiry into and use of research methodologies that enable interdisciplinary collaboration and the development of new technologies; and application of new technologies in society and industry, particularly in creative areas of art, design and media.
