The Master of Music in Music Education degree offers development of advanced concepts and skills to students who are experienced music educators. The program supports each student's specific career and pedagogical goals and includes enriching courses in applied and ensemble performance, Music History and Music Theory.<br>Accessible course schedules allow for students to attend full-time or they may attend part-time alongside concurrent professional commitments. Graduates of this program may advance in positions, salary, or rank within K-12 teaching, or be admitted into doctoral programs. The degree may be combined with additional coursework that leads to licensure in Nevada or other states in the Western US.<br><br>Development of personal musical skills in both solo performance and interactive ensemble performance platforms,<br>Development of single instrument performance skills sufficient for classroom instruction, accompaniment and tutoring,<br>Development of skills for classroom interaction, designing lesson plans and classroom strategies that will compel students to learn,<br>Development of an efficient, marketable depth of knowledge in music theory, music history, musicology, ethnomusicology, classical and contemporary music traditions, music technology and musical engineering trends,<br>Development of conducting skills for directing small and large ensembles,<br>Development of the oral and written skills needed for classroom instruction and school-related administrative duties that often accompany a music teaching career.
