You will be required to submit all official secondary-school records. This includes certificates, examination grades, degrees or diplomas in original language of issue. You must also include official verification of high school completion.
Official English translations of all academic records including certificates, degrees or diplomas.
You will be considered for admission to CSUN as an international freshman if you meet the following requirements:
You have earned a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 grading scale or an average of B grades on an A - F letter grading scale. (CSUN will convert your international GPA when you apply for admission.)
You have met our English language requirement:
Duolingo English Test - 95
IELTS - 6.0, TOEFL Internet Based score - 61, TOEFL Paper-based score - 500

The Bachelor of Music option in Winds encompasses the classical study of woodwind and brass instruments: flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, saxophone, trumpet, horn, trombone, euphonium and tuba (entrance audition required). Capstone experience: one-hour recital. The Bachelor of Music option in Winds is a degree program intended for students planning careers as performers, private studio teachers and university instructors. Students receive a variety of performance opportunities in recitals, large and small ensembles, studio classes and master classes. Students also receive a background in literature, pedagogy and performance practice. Students graduating with this degree will have developed an understanding of the repertory in their major performance area and the ability to perform from a cross-section of that repertory, culminating in a capstone experiencea senior recital.<br><br>Ensemble opportunities include the Wind Ensemble, Wind Symphony, Symphony Orchestra and Chamber Music (including the Northridge Flute Quartet and the CSUN Brass Ensemble). Students also have the opportunity to perform regularly in pit orchestras for operas and musicals, and to tour with the Wind Ensemble and Symphony Orchestra.<br>Music department graduates are gainfully employed in diverse positions throughout the world, including as teachers in public and private schools and colleges, practicing music therapists, conductors of orchestras and bands, published composers and arrangers, award-winning recording artists, performers in renowned opera companies, major symphony orchestras, recording studios and professional chamber ensembles, plus many graduates are involved with the entertainment industry in Southern California and elsewhere.
