The Music Department at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa offers the Master of Arts in Music Education. The MA in Music Education degree can be earned in the Track 1 or Track 2 programs. The Track 1 program (delivered in both hybrid and online form) is intended for those individuals who have attained a BEd or comparable degree and are currently teaching in the public or private school. Track 1 is also offered in the online Master of Arts in Music Education, for those whose circumstances preclude the more traditional campus residency route.The Track 2 program is for individuals who have attained an undergraduate degree in music, but lack a music teaching license, previous teaching experience, or both.
