If you'd like to specialize in producing recordings and live broadcasts of music, this dual degree allows you to earn a master of music in Music Technology and an advanced certificate in Tonmeister Studies in only three years.Tonmeisters supervise both the technical and artistic personnel during the production of music and/or sound recordings or live sound/ broadcasting.Tonmeisters currently work in many areas of music and sound production including record production, radio, film, education, and product design. Producing classical music is the primary focus, although other genres of acoustic and electro-acoustic music apply to the field, including modern classical, jazz, world, rock, and folk music.This dual degree will prepare you for music production as a whole, artistically and technically. You will learn the fundamentals of music technology and develop a specialization in Tonmeister Studies by learning to use technology, ear training for audio engineers, and perspectives on the psychology of music.
