国际学生入学条件
Basic competence in music theory and history is a prerequisite for all graduate degree programs in music. Entering graduate students are required to complete a music theory entrance exam and meet history coursework requirements. Based on exam results and review of the student's transcript, up to 8 points of remedial music theory and/or history coursework may be required. Remedial courses cannot be used to meet degree requirements.
You must have the equivalent of a regionally accredited four-year US bachelor's degree before beginning your studies at NYU Steinhardt to be considered for admission.

Located in one of the world's most vibrant centers for music, this degree will give you advanced performance training and intensive academic course work with exceptional opportunities in the music industry. Youll perform at landmark music venues, study one-on-one with our internationally acclaimed faculty, be mentored in entrepreneurship, and build a professional career in the modern music industry. <br>Pursue your career goals as a professional string musician by combining advanced solo, chamber, and orchestral repertoire performance training and related academic study with performance opportunities throughout New York City. You'll work closely with our renowned faculty in weekly private lessons and participate in repertoire classes that focus on solo performance and pedagogy. Tailor your curriculum toward your specific interests and musical goals through two core courses in music research and music history/literature, six courses in music performance, including various private instruction, ensemble, chamber music, workshop, repertoire, and string classes, and three elective courses in subjects such as music theory, performing arts administration, music business, music technology, and other related areas of interest. You will learn to analyze the performance practices, both historical and contemporary, informing the performance of repertoire from the 18th21st centuries.
