The MM in Wind Conducting is an intense degree program for the serious wind conductor pursuing a career in public school music education or higher education. The program is limited to two students to provide ample conducting opportunities and individual attention.Wind conducting majors also hold assistantships with UNM Bands where they receive experience in all aspects of the program including conducting the Wind Symphony and Symphonic Band, assisting with undergraduate conducting, and assisting with the Athletic Bands. Leadership of the program is provided by Director of Bands and Past President of CBDNA, Eric Rombach-Kendall with opportunities to work with other members of the conducting faculty in orchestral and choral conducting and Associate Director of Bands, Chad Simons. Past graduates hold university, high school, and middle school teaching positions throughout the United States.
