国际学生入学条件
High School Transcripts.
Typically, the most important factor in the admission evaluation process is demonstrated academic achievement in a challenging secondary school program.
The admission committee looks for applicants who have completed the most rigorous academic courses available in their secondary schools and recommends that prospective students should exceed minimum high school graduation requirements. We require an official transcript. The secondary program should include no fewer than 16 academic courses and must include the following courses:
English 4 units
Mathematics 4 units
Foreign Language 2 units
Science (from among biology, chemistry, and physics) 2 units (*)
Social Studies 1 unit
A TOEFL or IELTS score should not be more than two years old. Depending on the school, most admitted graduate students attain a minimum total score of 90 on the internet-based (iBT) TOEFL (including sectional minimums of 22 in speaking, 22 in writing, 23 in reading and 23 in listening). The minimum paper-based TOEFL score requirement is usually 600, and the minimum IELTS score requirement is 7.0.

The University of Virginia Department of Music offers a wide variety of opportunities to all university students interested in studying music and sound. Students can explore jazz, African genres, European art musics, computer music, hip-hop or other popular musics, and a range of other world and folk musics. As the diversity of our courses and performance groups continues to grow, the Department of Music remains one of the leading music departments in the nation. Whether by becoming a part of a performance group, learning about music in an academic setting, or combining these, students can immerse themselves in musical life. Classes are available for students with all levels of experience, so everyone from beginners to skilled professionals has a chance to broaden their knowledge and understanding of music. This program approaches the study of music as one of the liberal arts. This means that students develop their understanding of music through critical and comparative studies (which includes cultural studies, aesthetics, musicology, and ethnomusicology), theory and analysis, composition, and development of skills in musicianship and performance in a range of possible genres and styles. Students who exhibit truly exceptional talent in music may submit a supplemental Music Portfolio through the Common Application. Music portfolios are reviewed by Music Department faculty members. The Music Portfolio is an optional part of the application process and is intended for those who plan to engage seriously in the Music Department as students. Completed Music Portfolio evaluations are shared with the admission committee and are considered as part of the overall application review.
