The Theory major in the School of Music is for students who wish to concentrate their study on the theory of music. Students will conduct research under mentors, faculty members who are active in academic discourse on the national and international level. Areas of study include:<br>Theoretical Systems<br>Advanced Orchestration<br>Counterpoint<br>Music History<br>Applied Music<br>All students desiring to pursue a Bachelor of Music, Bachelor of Music Education, or Bachelor of Arts in Music degree must audition. Music faculty review auditions for acceptance into each music degree program. Graduates have gone on to graduate study at other prestigious institutions. Many have become theory professors. Every year, the School of Music presents over 300 concerts and recitals.
