The music major is for serious musicians who are resolute about pursuing new frontiers and not afraid to challenge musical conventions. The major is in the liberal arts tradition. It is a good fit for students who want a music degree, but also want to take extra courses outside their major course of study. Students develop their skills through theory and practice. Areas of study include:<br>Music Theory<br>Music History and Literature<br>Applied Music<br>Conducting<br>This degree allows students to develop the extraordinary skills necessary to fulfill their professional pursuits. In this degree, students may pursue studies that emphasize either performance or academic subjects in music. All students desiring to pursue a Bachelor of Music, Bachelor of Music Education, or Bachelor of Arts in Music degree must audition. Music faculty review auditions for acceptance into each music degree program.
