The Instrumental Music major in the Bachelor of Music Education degree program is for students interested in teaching instrumental music in public schools. This degree leads to Texas teacher certification. Students are able to choose a string or wind/percussion concentration. Areas of study include:<br>Elementary Conducting<br>Instrumental Music in the Secondary School<br>Marching Band/Jazz Pedagogy<br>String Methods<br>All students desiring to pursue a Bachelor of Music, Bachelor of Music Education, or Bachelor of Arts in Music degree must audition. Music faculty review auditions for acceptance into each music degree program. Student teaching is a component of the Bachelor of Music Education degree. Graduates have found teaching careers in public and private schools in Texas and throughout the country.
