A Bachelor of Arts in Music is intended for students interested in incorporating the study of music into wide-ranging liberal studies coursework. The program emphasizes studies in the liberal arts and prepares students for a wide range of careers. Fulfill an experiential learning requirement which can lead to internships. Pursue research in an area of interest through a Senior Capstone Seminar. Receive excellent preparation for graduate school and music-related careers. First year students enter as music majors and enroll in core music studies in conjunction with liberal studies courses. During their first or second year, students petition to major in their specific desired area. In addition to music courses, you'll take a broad range of liberal studies courses combined with a year of modern language. You'll also take advanced courses in music, develop research skills and complete a final project or paper.
