A Bachelor of Music in composition consists of traditional musical studies with instruction in analysis, orchestration, counterpoint, compositional procedures and contemporary musical styles. Receive private composition instructions from faculty who are active composers. Take part in composition seminars with guest composers and musicians from outside DePaul. Write consistently and produce original works for a variety of instrumental and vocal combinations. Have compositions performed during DePaul Composers Forum, a quarterly student composition concert, and submit works to be read and possibly performed by the DePaul Student New Music Ensemble, DePaul Wind Ensemble, DePaul choral groups, DePaul Chamber Orchestra and DePaul Symphony Orchestra.
