To be eligible for admission in the Ball State Graduate School, you must have a bachelor's degree or higher from an institution recognized by a regional accrediting association. Some doctoral and specialist degree programs (but not all) require a master's degree from an institution recognized by a regional accrediting association.
Earned a minimum of a 2.75 GPA from your undergraduate degree-granting institution
Applicants whose GPA falls below the 2.75 minimum may also be eligible for probationary admission
Proof of English proficiency: Ball State University recommends all graduate applicants to demonstrate English proficiency unless eligible for a waiver.

The School of Music recognizes the importance and value in entrepreneurial learning. As the professional landscape for music in the 21st century changes, musicians must increasingly rely on their ability to spearhead fulfilling artistic endeavors and create employment opportunities for themselves.<br><br>The certificate in entrepreneurial studies in music provides you with a safe environment where you can take creative risks, develop entrepreneurial, marketing, networking, and grant-writing skills, and learn from successful artists. The program will teach you how to better manage and navigate the increasing demands on 21st century musicians by blending a curriculum of both music and business courses. Open to both undergraduate and graduate students, the certificate can be completed in tandem with undergraduate and master's degree programs and as a doctoral secondary area.<br><br>The graduate certificate in entrepreneurial music serves as an add-on to the course work of master of music (MM), master of arts (MA), or artist diploma students. Upon acceptance into a graduate music degree or artist diploma, you may apply for admittance into the certificate program. This two-year certificate requires 17 credit hours of study and offers courses from both the School of Music and Miller College of Business. Upon completion, you will gain a solid grounding in business, marketing, management, and entrepreneurial skills needed to succeed as a professional musician.
