The LSU College of Music and Dramatic Arts is a performing arts community that trains, cultivates, prepares, and rewards excellent artists, educators, scholars, and performers fostering passion for the arts, collaboration and the creation of new works. We engage with our community, heightening our collective ability to communicate with expressive power and purpose. LSU is a national flagship institution with world class intellectual and creative resources.A minimum of 30 semester hours of graduate credit (33 for the MM in Music Theory) is required to complete the degree. Up to six hours of graduate credit may be transferred from another institution if such credit satisfies required or elective courses at LSU and is approved by the Area Coordinator of the course area. The master’s degree must be completed within five years.
