An overall undergraduate GPA and master's GPA of at least 2.75 (or 3.00 in the last two years of undergraduate study).
An undergraduate GPA of at least 3.00 in music.
Bachelor's Degree - You must hold a four-year baccalaureate from a regionally accredited institution or an approved equivalent.
Transcripts - One transcript from every post-secondary institution the applicant has attended (regardless of whether a degree or credential was earned), showing all coursework, extension and correspondence work, any degrees earned, and the dates that those degrees were awarded. Unofficial transcripts will be accepted as part of the application process. However, if an applicant is admitted, official transcripts will be required by the date specified on the Certificate of Admission. Transfer credits posted on another institution's transcript will not be accepted in lieu of the transcript itself. Only transcripts sent directly from the institution are considered official. Failure to disclose all coursework and/or degrees awarded will result in rescission of admission. The Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Performance, with concentrations in brass, conducting, percussion, piano, strings, voice, and woodwinds, is intended for those musicians planning to work at the most advanced academic and professional levels of music.<br><br>Learning Outcomes<br>Students graduating from the UNLV School of Music with a Doctor of Musical Arts degree will:<br><br>Perform or conduct and rehearse in an area of specialization at the highest level of professional practice.<br>Demonstrate historical and theoretical knowledge supportive of the development of individualized interpretations within a full range of musical styles.<br>Display a thorough understanding of the history of their instrument or conducting medium and a comprehensive knowledge of the repertoire and literature specific to the area of specialization.<br>Demonstrate a knowledge of general bibliographical resources in music and research skills appropriate to the area of specialization, and the ability to present and defend the results of scholarly research.
