We look for students with a first or a 2:1 UK Honours degree, or overseas equivalent, in speech and language pathology or a related subject.

During the application you'll be asked for the following:

proof of English language proficiency if English isn't your first language
two references, one of which must be academic
funding or scholarship information
research proposal of 250 to 1,000 words in length, detailing the subject area & topic to be investigated

课程简介

This research area focuses on improving people's lives by investigating the underlying causes of their motor speech disorder. We examine and describe the speech problems and their relationship to speech intelligibility to develop new diagnostic and treatment methods. We offer two research degrees in Speech & Language Therapy. You can study an MPhil over one year or a PhD over three years. You also have the option of studying on a part-time basis. Both degrees are available in any of our six research groups: Children's Speech, language & communication disorders, Paediatric & adult voice disorders & laryngectomy, Speech motor problems in children & adults, Communication disorders associated with stroke, Speech characteristics in the general population. As part of your PhD degree, you'll be enrolled on the Postgraduate Certificate in Researcher Professional Development (PG Cert RPD).
