Our entry requirements indicate the minimum qualifications with which we normally accept students. Competition for places varies from year to year and you aren't guaranteed a place if you meet the minimum qualifications. To apply, you will need to be registered to practice as a Veterinary Nurse / Veterinary Technician in your country of residence. In order to be eligible for year 3 entry, you will need either one of the following qualifications or an equivalent: HND Veterinary Nursing (including RCVS VN certificate) with B in the graded unit, Foundation Degree Veterinary Nursing with grade Merit (including RCVS VN Certificate), HND Veterinary Nursing with B in the graded unit (Trimester 2) , RCVS Advanced Veterinary Nursing Diploma . In order to be eligible for year 4 entry, you will need: NFQ Veterinary Nursing Qualification at level 6 with grade Merit, In addition Candidates should be eligible to register with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons, the Veterinary Council of Ireland or with the appropriate Veterinary Nursing Professional body in the country where Practice elective is planned. As all learning, teaching and assessment activities are conducted in English, if your first language is not English you must have a minimum Internatinal English Language Testing System score of 7.00, with all four elements have a score of at least 7.0. The IELTS 7.0 is required by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) and no other English Language tests will be accepted.

If you're a qualified veterinary nurse (RVN), this unique and flexible course allows you to upgrade your qualification to degree level. You'll gain graduate skills that can improve your veterinary nursing practice as well as your career prospects. We offer the longest-running veterinary nursing degree in Scotland, with excellent career prospects. The course is delivered in collaboration with the College of Animal Welfare to give you up-to-date and in-depth knowledge of all aspects of veterinary nursing.Our course is accredited by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons, allowing you to register as a vet nurse as soon as you graduate and begin working straight away. In fact, 100% of our graduates from 2017 were in work/study within six months of graduation. A main focus of the course is to build our students' professional experience to prepare them for the workplace: this is why our students will spend up to 60 weeks on placement in some of the most prestigious veterinary establishments throughout the United Kingdom. With the clinical skills gained from professional experience, as well as theoretical skills learned throughout the degree programme, our students have an excellent grounding in all skills required for registration as a Vet Nurse.
