The School has over two hundred research students pursuing MSc, PhD or MD degrees.<br>Research activities within the School of Medicine are focused in six major thematic areas, Cancer, Genetics, Infection and Immunity, Molecular Medicine, Neurosciences and Population Health.<br>Research is undertaken at our teaching hospitals including, St James's, the Trinity Centre at Tallaght University Hospital, and St Patrick's. There is a major emphasis on Translational Research in the School, where research discoveries made in the laboratory can be advanced to a clinical setting to benefit human health.
