Basic requirements for admission as an international student to a bachelor's degree program include the following:
Completion of formal secondary education in a pre-university curriculum.
Completion must include the awarding of a diploma or the issuance of a leaving certificate or matriculation certificate generally recognized as the educational qualification necessary for admission to higher studies.
English language ability at a level sufficient to undertake a full course of study.

Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) or American College Testing (ACT) scores (if applicable).
International students are not required to provide an ACT or SAT score, but they may use the ACT or SAT to satisfy English language proficiency requirements.

Public Health is a field of study focused on preventing illness and promoting health in individuals, communities, and society as a whole. The Public Health program at Miami builds on the University's strengths in three areas: Human Disease and Epidemiology, Health Policy and Administration, and Health Promotion and Education. The program is housed jointly in the College of Education, Health and Society and in the College of Arts and Science. Students will complete a core curriculum covering the critical elements of Public Health along with additional courses focused on one of the specialty areas. Public Health students choosing to focus on Health Promotion and Education will complete all of the requirements of the College of Education, Health and Society. Public Health students choosing to focus on Human Disease and Epidemiology or Health Policy and Administration will select that focus area as a concentration within the major and will also complete all of the requirements of the College of Arts and Science. These curricula will prepare students for either graduate school or employment in the field.<br> <br>Public Health focuses on preventing illness and promoting health in individuals, communities, and society as a whole. Choose a concentration in human disease and epidemiology, health policy and administration, or health promotion and education. Learn to identify critical elements of health and develop a foundation to work in diverse environments. Public Health is a broad field that can lead to a number of diverse career opportunities. From epidemiologists who help prevent the spread of disease to community health specialists, environmental scientists, refugee coordinators, policy analysts, health administrators, and health education specialists, there are a wide variety of career choices for students in this field of study. In addition, it is a gateway to pre-professional schools (medical, dental, veterinary, physical therapy, etc.), as well as graduate studies in public health and related fields.
